Benjamin Singleton (1788 – 1853)

The brothers, Benjamin, James and Joseph Singleton, were all involved to varying degrees in establishing watermills in New South Wales in the early 1800s.

Benjamin owned the land where the following mills were built and probably played a major role in the establishment of these mills:

-- The Upper Mill at Kurrajong,
-- The Lower Mill at Kurrajong,
-- Clarence Town Mill,
-- The watermill and two steam mills at Singleton township, and
-- possibly a mill at Maitland
